Vaughan Williams - Sea Songs

from The Danserye by UPEI Wind Symphony

/

about

Written for a British military band in 1924, "Sea Songs" is a single-movement composition based on three English sailing songs. Originally, Vaughan Williams included this as part of his "English Folk Song Suite", but his publisher, Boosey & Hawkes, decided to print it as an independent work.
