Celebration was written by the English composer Philip Sparke on a commission by the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra. The piece is in two main sections; the Maestoso, featuring sonorous brass fanfare gestures and a tender theme; and the Presto, which presents running woodwind passage work and a robust trumpet melody.
